Delta Sigma Pi's Annual See-Saw-A-Thon:
As Vice President of Scholarships and Awards, it was my duty to organize, plan, and successfully carry out our fraternity's largest philanthropy, the See-Saw-A-Thon. This event is a week long fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the Michael Matthew Brown Scholarship created in memory of a brother that passed away from Leukemia.
This is a video clip of our See-Saw-A-Thon that took place fall of 2011 while I was holding my position as VPSA. Throughout the preparation of this week-long event I gathered over $600 of donations for the Michael Matthew Brown Scholarship Foundation. We also raised over $100 during the week from students and faculty walking by our event that went directly to The American Cancer Society. I created donation letters, advertisements, and also a t-shirt for fellow Delta Sigma Pi brothers to wear in aiding the promotion of this event. About 30 t-shirts were purchased and worn leading up to and during our See-Saw-A-Thon. We accomplished our goal of raising over $500 as well as achieving an article on the front page of The Breeze (our school newspaper). Creating cancer awareness around campus as well as promoting our scholarship was successfully accomplished for the 20th year.
Above is the shirt I designed for the brotherhood to promote the event.
